Welcome to my LJ. Feel free to leave your sanity at the door, because I sure won't have mine with me. Some things will be friendlocked, like my PPC missions. Comment and I might friend you. Otherwise, feel free to look around at my fanfic and fanart, along with stuff going on in my life right now.

You know a movie is good if you get the urge to cry even when you don't understand what the hell everyone's saying.

And the song is totally awesomesauce, because I learned how to sing it! In fact, this song got me interested in learning French. I hope we resurrect it this year for chorus; it was THE BEST.

Hello! I’m Lily. Or Jennifer, if the names on the packaging mean anything. I am going to judge these cookies based on the first impression (the packaging), the cookie’s appearance, the cookie’s smell, and the cookie’s taste. I will award points on a scale of one to ten, with one being the lowest and ten being the highest.

I apologize in advance if I sound too strict cut for length )

I'm meeting up with Mrs. F on Friday! *happy Lily dance*

I received my cookies today. They're sitting in front of me right now, begging for me to eat them. And BOY DO THEY SMELL GOOD. This is going to be one hard judgement call!

Will be going to the French Club halloween party in about an hour, though, so I might lay off the judging until when I get back. At the earliest it will be now, and at the latest it will be tomorrow. I'll write my remarks down and post them when the others do. :D

COOKIES COOKIES COOKIES! Erin and Beth, you two totally made my day.

New friends, To Kill A Mockingbird, and muscle pain
Welcome to my crazy little world, my new friends from the [info]rememberlaura friending meme! Hope you enjoy your stay and please don't disturb the mini-Centurions, they're teaching the mini-Balrogs how to airlock people.

So what has Lily (or Jennifer, if you really want to get literal) been up to this past week or so since the last post?

I don't know, but she's been hobbling around like a little old lady because those squats in gym class did something to her thigh muscles. Can't go up and down steps without causing herself pain. Maybe she ought to install one of those chair lift thingies.

(okay, I think I've been reading this in my mind with a southern accent.)

Anyways. What else? I watched the stage adaptation of To Kill A Mockingbird. Epicness! The other girls in the audience fangirled over Jem and Dill. The actors are 17 and 12, respectively. Or at least, that's what they told us in the after-show question session thing.

Atticus looked like a cross between Mark Harmon (the guy in For All Time, in case I wrote down the wrong name) and James McAvoy. He also spoke too fast, one of the only issues I really had with the show

Boo Radley looked a little fat for a recluse.

The acting was superb, though! I especially love Bob Ewell. The actor had a stick-on mustache and looked quite nice without it. And the actor who played Mr. Gilmer isn't too bad looking either.

So if you happen to live near Fullerton College, you need to go see it. LIKE NOW, BECAUSE THEY'LL BE TEARING DOWN THAT GORGEOUS SET ON SUDAY AT NOON!

Isn't this the most adorable grammar poem ever?

Comma Between Clawses
by Alane Brown

My kitty is a phrase who sleeps in fur pajamas
He curls in his nest in a shape like a comma
A comma is a breath in the space between two clauses
Like a nap, for a cat, it rests on its pawses

A comma is a pause as the thought turns anew
To paws and their claws and the damage they might do
A comma is a curve like a moon or a cheek
Or a kitty who is dreaming of the havoc he will wreak

Snagged shamelessly from [info]grammarpolice.
Anyways! Now for a little Ben squeeage... "Leading Me On" by Hyrise!

He'll probably hate me for putting this up; he's rather embarassed by it! Anyways. He sings the bridge to the chorus:
And if I ever lose myself to you
Like a million others want to do
Someone wake me somebody just help me out
She gonna take me show me what it's all about
Best voice ever, yes? :D

Ah. National Novel Writing month is in two weeks or so! :D Nearly time to go kill that plotbunny that's been bugging me since I read Twilight.

What would a vampire-human relation look like with more development and a total lack of interest on the vampire's part? Like, he's friends with her, he wants her blood, but he doesn't want a romance.

That'd totally suck for the girl (please pardon the pun).

Anyways. Here's my writing profile. And here's my latest icon batch, where there are some NaNo icons.

Visited Mrs. F the Awesome today! *happy Lily dance*

Soooooo. We got out of school at 12:10 or so and Brittany and I went to Mrs. F's school right away. But when we went into the front office, it turns out that the attendance clerk didn't get Mrs. F's email about our visit in time, so we had to sneak around on campus. It was strange. ;P

I visited all of the other teachers first. Ms. D is still sore over me being Mrs. F's aide instead of hers. She sure can keep a grudge. :P
Mr. W acted all creepy; trying to keep me talking about what's happening at my current school. WTF. He sure hasn't changed. XP

Then I went to see Mrs. F! She's still super frakkin awesome. She's watching BSG 4.5 now and her students are doing the earthworm lab, yay! We talked and stuff and that's when I learned about the whole email business. Note to self: send notifications two days in advance, just in case the office gets swamped down in emails and doesn't get the heads-up.

Second note to self: crash their back-to-school night next thursday.

Third note to self: remind Mrs. F to get a Twitter.

Fourth note to self: The Dorian Gray movie prank - remember to play it! And bring a camera!

Anyways. She called me a few hours after the visit; she apparently had to take an hour-long-nap. Mme. Prez never got such a luxury. :P

Soooooo. Still puzzled over gendered nouns (and thanking my lucky stars to not have to suffer dealing with them in English! If we had masculine/feminine nouns, there'd be more grammatically incorrect fics in the Pit.) in French. History teacher returns tomorrow from Madrid. Club fair tomorrow; might join French Club (for the extra credit, yo), Comedy Sportz (of BSG/Twilight parody fame), and gods know what else.

Also thinking of auditioning for a part in upcoming school play - Frankenstein. I haven't done a play in like soooooo long. Last acting role was... the Narrator in the Greek plays in sixth grade. yeahhhh. And I was Martha Washington in fifth, and Alice in fourth (who was the Mad Hatter again?! I remember the Cheshire cat and 'Dum and 'Dee...)

Anyways! Here is a super awesome funny cool hilariously hysterical frakking awesomesauce Twilight recap blog! It is pretty much the most hysterical Twi-recap ever since [info]cleolinda's stuff. Plus it has awesome drawings where Ed's hair looks like it's on fire. XD

Homework sucks. Exactly what it says on the tin.

Meme time!
If I was dating Ed Cullen, I'd ask for him to pay my way to HARVARD. Bella is out of her frakking mind. )

So yes, I watched Easy Virtue last night! It was awesomesauce and hilarious and Ben is super adorable in it.

I mean seriously? His character is John Whittaker but everyone calls him Panda. He's so adorably clueless and bouncy and rather foppish at times but he's bouncing around and dancing and walking around shirtless and jumping on the bed and generally acting adorable.

Oh and his onscreen parents! Kristin Scott Thomas is absolutely phenomenal and protrays Veronica Whittaker like how Mary protrays Roslin - strong-willed, witty, always hiding something from the other characters. Absofrakkinglutely awesome, that is her. Colin Firth... I want him as my daddy. :D

cut for spoilers and lots of squee. )

Verdict? Go watch it. It is tres awesome and hilarious with some deep introspective moments but still awesome and stuff. And I totally want Larita's dresses.

So, there's this Kayne West Apology generator that is so frakking hilarious! Why?

I'M SOOOOO SORRY TO BEN BARNES AND MARY MCDONNELL FOR FRAKKING THE CAT. I SPOKE TO MARY MCDONNELL RIGHT AFTER. BEN BARNES IS VERY HOT !!........... I'M IN THE WRONG FOR RUNNING AND SINGING!!!!!!!!!!! I'M SORRY TO MY FANS IF I LET YOU GUYS DOWN!!!!! I'M SORRY TO MY FRIENDS AT THE PROTECTORS OF THE PLOT CONTINUUM (WAIT THAT'S NOT A COMPANY...). I WILL APOLOGIZE TO BEN BARNES 2MRW. WELCOME TO THE REAL WORLD!!!! EVERYBODY WANNA BOOOOO ME BUT I'M A FAN OF FROGS!!! YOU KNOW!!! BOOOOYAAAWWWWW!!!!!! HELLS YEAH I GAVE MY ELEVATOR TO ANNA POPPLEWELL AND SKANDAR KEYNES WHEN THEY DESERVED IT... THAT'S WHAT IT IS!!!!!!!!!! I'M NOT CRAZY YALL, I'M JUST BEING REAL. SORRY FOR THAT!!!MUCH RESPECT!!!!!

Because you get the most hilarious result, that's why.

See, Kayne, if you would just READ A FRAKKING BOOK once in a while, you might realize that apology letters are not written in all caps. And that you don't use so many exclamation points. And that you don't go off onto random tangents.
(Besides, Taylor Swift is prettier and has prettier songs. Even if more than half of them are about her own screwed-up love life.)

On a different note... I missed two questions on the French quiz today. Grrrrr.
But I did make a scathing comment in History: "All men are equal, but women are more equal than men." See, George Orwell reference, yo.
And now I can't wait until next Wednesday because it's minimum day! Yayyyyy! We get out at 12:10 and I'm going to go visit Mrs. F!

Masculine vs. Feminine nouns. ARGHFRAKDAMNIT I GOT MY ICON JOURNAL NAME ALL FREAKING WRONG.

So now that I am more enlightened, I realize that just copying the title of a piano piece I used isn't exactly the most grammatically correct thing to do. But then does that make "le petit rien" "la petite rien"?

I am soooooo confused.

At least now I know that "le petit ami" is boyfriend and "la petite amie" is girlfriend. Better change it to "les amis" or something.

Bleh. Au revoir.

What celebrity or politician would you most wish to get stuck in an elevator with for two hours? What burning question would you ask them?

View 373 Answers

Hmmmmmmm. There's a stumper unless you're allowing me to get stuck with two people. Because choosing between Ben Barnes and Mary McDonnell is like choosing between chocolate and sleep.

Please, no perverted analogies.

And as for the question... other than asking them for the means to contact them again, of course...

For Ben: "Is the Cosmopolitan interview real or totally embellished?"
For Mary: "Can you tell me the secret to your awesomeness?"

*nodnod*

Now, back to homework.
